Decorating for winter is one of my favorite activities all year! What better way to decorate than with a bit of winter DIY?  In today’s blog, I’ll teach you how to make the most adorable snowy pinecone candle holder you’ve ever seen!  Let’s get started!

Winter DIY Materials

To make this craft, you’ll need:

  • A glass jar (similar to a Mason Jar)
  • Two pinecones
  • White lace
  • Twine or baker’s twine
  • Hot glue gun
  • Snow-Tex
  • Epsom Salt
  • Tea-light candle

Crafting

winter diy jarsFirst, you’ll want to cover the rim of your jar with your white lace and use your hot glue gun to secure it. Then, tie some twine around the top.  Feel free to use as much or as little as you want as long as you’re able to tie it in a bow!

Next, you’ll want to use your hot glue gun to glue the pinecones to the top of the jar.  You can glue them directly to the jar, onto the twine around the top, or even the lace!  Whatever you want!

Now, it’s time to stir up your Snow-Tex.  Using a flat utensil such as a butter knife works pretty well.  After you’ve stirred the Snow-Tex, it’s time to apply it carefully.  Use your fingers to spread the Snow-Tex on the pinecones and around the rim of the jar.

Finally, let’s move inside the jar! First, add a couple of inches of Epsom salt to the bottom of the jar.  Then, use some kitchen tongs to lower your tea-light candle on top of the salt carefully. Finally, use a long lighter to light the candle.

There you have it!  That’s all you need to do to make these gorgeous pinecone candles.  We hope you have a great time making this fun craft!
