I’ve been listening to a great podcast lately, and it has me thinking about how much I enjoy listening to podcasts. They help me keep my mind active and help me think of things in new ways. I remembered a few months ago when I wrote a blog about a few podcasts I thought seniors might like, so I decided to give a few more recommendations! If you missed the original blog, you can read it here. Here’s a list of 5 fantastic podcasts you’ll love!
Podcast Category: Economics
If you’re interested in money and the economy, you’ll love this podcast. With over 1,000 episodes, there’s a whole lot of content to go through! This show is surprisingly creative and entertaining as well as informative and factual. Listen to Planet Money on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Podcast Category: True Crime
True crime podcasts are not for everyone. However, Criminal is easily palatable and is very interesting. It approaches heavy-handed topics tastefully and respectfully, making this podcast easy listening. Listen to Criminal on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Podcast Category: Language
I’ve always been very interested in language and writing, so this podcast has been one of my favorites for a few years. Each episode takes 20-30 minutes and dives into the etymology of a given word. One of the recent episodes is exploring all of the names worldwide for a ladybug, and it’s both interesting and entertaining. Listen to The Allusionist on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Podcast Category: Interviews
Longform is one of the most interesting podcasts I’ve followed. Each episode involves an interview with a writer, journalist, filmmaker, or another creative person to learn how they do their work. Some of their most well-known guests are Dan Rather, Adam McKay, Ken Burns, and over 400 others. So, if you’re interested in writing, filmmaking, or creative work, this podcast is for you! Listen to Longform on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Aging in Full Bloom
Podcast Category: Health and Wellness
Aging in Full Bloom is a remarkably insightful podcast dedicated to exploring all forms of wellness as they relate to aging. This podcast is very empowering and can even be entertaining. We’d recommend this one to all of our blog readers. Listen to Aging in Full Bloom on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
I hope this list has given you some new shows to follow! I’m always looking for more, so be sure to leave your favorite podcasts in the comments!
